Sri Venkateswara Veterinary University, Tirupati was established during the year 2005 with three faculties of Veterinary Dairy and Fishery Science. A total of 28 institutions comprising Colleges, Polytechnics, Research Stations and Extension Units are functioning to fulfill the mandate of the University. College of Veterinary Science, Tirupati one of the premier institutes for Veterinary Science education in India was started during the year 1955. Department of Veterinary Physiology was established since inception. Post-graduate and Doctoral programmes in Veterinary Physiology were started during 2000 and 2007 respectively and so far, produced 16 M.V.Sc., and 2 Ph.D. Students. The Departmental laboratory is well equipped to carry out Conventional slow freezing and molecular research in Reproductive Physiology. The Department has been Operating research projects sponsored by many external funded agencies.
